CMHA begins work on senior housing facility in Ohio, US

Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority has commenced construction work on Euclid Belmore Building, a senior housing facility in the US state of Ohio.Developed at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Belmore Road in East Cleveland, the three-storey, U-Shaped building will include 36 senior housing units.  Out of the 36 units, 30 will be single-bedroom units and six will be double bedrooms units. Each unit will have open floor plans, big rooms and ample closet space.

Eight units will be developed in compliance with the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards for senior people with disabilities. The interior as well as exterior amenities on this scheme accessible for handicapped people. Each floor in the building will have facilities for laundry and trash, which will add to the convenience of the residents,

CMHA is building the facility with the grant money received from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development under the scope of its Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 (NSP2). The scheme has been designed by LDA Architects.

The building will feature both enclosed and outdoor seating area. This includes Winter Garden, an enclosed space, that will provide all year round access to green space. The secondary outdoor seating area will have grills and will be artistically landscaped. The building will be built in compliance with the Enterprise Green Standards (EGS).
