Construction work is set to commence on a project to expand Ocean Park Timberland Library in Ocean Park, Washington on 25 July 2012.

The project will double the size of the current library, by adding interior space of about 3,240 to 5,932 square feet to the back South side of the library. The new addition will feature expanded quiet reading spaces, a separate teen area (currently part of the children’s area), a larger children’s space, additional computer stations and a larger staff workroom to process library items. The project also will include additional shelving and all new furnishings.

New seating areas in the back of the new space will provide wooded views. The library also plans to have a patio and garden in the future period of time. Washington-based Holmberg Company will provide construction services, while Frank Densmore of the Olympia-based Archos Corporation is the architect for the project. Work on the project will be completed by early 2013.
