SNC-Lavalin Group Incorporated, a Canada-based engineering company, has closed financing on the new Shriners Hospitals for Children in Montreal, Canada.

The proposed Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada will be built at the McGill University Health Centre’s Glen site in Montreal. The new hospital will be an eight storied building, which will be linked to the new Montreal Children’s Hospital, allowing the two facilities to share services.

The hospital will have a surface area of approximately 20,500 square metres and will accommodate 22 single-patient rooms, four operating rooms, a basic research and new clinical investigation unit, ambulatory care services and rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Upon completion of work, the new building will replace an existing hospital, which is almost half the size of the proposed children’s hospital.

Under the terms of the contract with Shriners Hospitals for Children, SNC-Lavalin will provide complete services suite for the new hospital, which also include procurement, installation and commissioning of medical equipment.
