26th World Road Congress


    Since the 1st World Road Congress in 1908, the World Road Association (PIARC) has organized Congresses every 4 years to share worldwide innovations, strategies, trends, practices on road and transport between over 5000 Ministers, private sector, administrations and organizations, academics, solutions’ providers, experts and practitioners from over 120 countries across the planet.

    Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, The Abu Dhabi Department of Transport (DoT) will host the prestigious 26th WRC on October 6–10, 2019 on “Connecting Cultures, Enabling Economies” to establish new ideas towards better understanding road, infrastructure and transport works but also regarding the cultural part that should be implemented among all.For years, the industry has played an essential role in the economic, social and cultural fields in the strategic development plans of all the countries. They allow population flows, trades, technology and innovations dissemination, health and education development, linguistics and culture spread. However, new issues have to be tackled by cities that face current global issues such as urbanization, climate change, autonomous vehicles, new regulations, traffic…WRC is designed to enable road administrations and specialists around the world to discuss universal topics, such as safety, design, development, to exchange innovative ideas.
