Skanska builds the road E6 in southern Helgeland, Norway, for NOK 2.3 billion, about SEK 2.4 billion

Skanska has signed a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration for the construction of the road E6 in southern Helgeland, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 2.3 billion, about SEK 2.4 billion, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the first quarter of 2017.

The agreement covers a stretch of 132 kilometers of road in the Nordland county, of which 57.5 kilometer of new road. The project is implemented as a road development contract, where Skanska as contractor is responsible for design and construction and also operation and maintenance of the entire road section for a period of 15 years. About 200 employees from Skanska will be involved in the project.

Construction work will begin in April and is expected to be completed during the summer of 2021.Skanska is one of the leading development and construction companies in the Nordics, with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and developing residential- and commercial property projects in select home markets.
