Oman Construction Summit attracts positive interest from industry professionals

Over 170 industry professionals and government representatives will be attending the Oman Construction Summit 2012 on January 29 – 31 at the Grand Hyatt Muscat.

 

Over 30 prominent speakers made up of leading industry personalities will share their valuable insight on projects development and business opportunities within the sultanate’s building and construction industry.

Organised by Global Exhibitions & Conferences LLC (GEC) and International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC), the Oman Construction Summit 2012 will be formally inaugurated on January 30 by H.E. Dr. Rasheed bin Al Safi Al-Huraibi, Chairman of the Tender Board.  Held in co-operation with the Ministry of Housing, the Oman Construction Summit 2012 is a high-profile event dedicated to the sultanate’s increasing number of infrastructure projects as well as the attractive investment opportunities in the industry.

“By bringing together decision makers, ministry officials, top executives and industry professionals, the Oman Construction Summit 2012 will truly be an opportunity for an in-depth discussion of the current state of the industry and its continued development,” said C.J. Paul, Chief Executive Officer, GEC.

The summit will start on Sunday 29 January with a focus day dedicated to Duqm development with the exclusive inputs of key decision makers including the Chief Guest His Excellency Yahya bin Said bin Abdullah Al Jabri, Chairman of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm, His Excellency Said bin Hamdoon bin Saif Al Harthy, Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Communications and Peter Broers,  CEO of Port of Duqm Company.

Thus far, over 170 industry professionals and government authorities have already confirmed their participation in the event, with the total number of attendees expected to reach up to 200 with the presence of high-level representatives from the Omani government as well as diplomats. Some of the other countries that will be represented at the Oman Construction Summit 2012 include the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Germany and Turkey.

According to Rozenn Cornec, Divisional Director – Oman at IQPC Middle East “The three-day event will provide the opportunity for the industry stakeholders to meet and discuss the range of projects currently under construction or planned in Oman as part of the government’s investment strategy to develop the country’s infrastructure and diversify the economy.”

The Oman Construction Summit 2012 will also feature contractors and materials suppliers that will showcase their range of products and services for the building and construction industry at the exhibition held during the main conference on Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st January.
