Ministries of Transportation from Morocco & Tunisia confirmed to speak at high-level meeting ‘Maghreb Infrastructure & Construction Summit’ this September in Morocco.

With the strong presence of the Ministries of Transportation from Morocco and Tunisia at the high-level meeting Maghreb Infrastructure & Construction Summit taking place 25-26 September in Casablanca, Morocco; this will create an opportunity for all companies wishing to do business in the transport sector of North Africa.

Morocco has seen an increase in its physical infrastructure development in the last three years, as there have been a number of development projects to rehabilitate and expand the country’s infrastructure. Large scale projects such as the Tangier-Med port, developing Casablanca airport, Casablanca – Tangier high-speed rail and many others, demonstrate the scale of infrastructure developments that the country is currently working on.

On Day 1 of the summit, H.E Aziz Rabbah, Minister of Transport, Ministry of Transport Morocco will discuss Morocco’s geopolitical situation; providing advantages for investors in terms of land policy, human resources, proximity, transportation logistics and investment incentives.

Following on, H.E Karim Harouni, Minister of Transport, Ministry of Transport Tunisia will give an overview of Tunisia’s infrastructure developments and ties with the EU; furthering trade and networks across the Mediterranean. Also highlighting the opportunities to extend transport infrastructure between Tunisia and the Maghreb region.

Since the Arab Spring, Tunisia has made a significant start in rehabilitating its transport infrastructure and improving its business environment. Tunisia is located at the meeting point of Europe and Africa, and due to its advantageous geographical location there are numerous transport infrastructure projects taking place in order to upgrade its ports and increase trade between Europe and Africa, as well as increasing its transportation links to surrounding African counties.
