Turner Construction completes work on Drexel University’s facility in US

US-based Turner Construction Company has completed construction work on Constantine N Papadakis Integrated Science Building for Drexel University in Philadelphia, in the US state of Pennsylvania. The 150,000 square feet building will house 39 research and teaching laboratories, classrooms, lecture halls, a 230 seat auditorium, and collaborative spaces. The new building’s central feature is a five-storey bio-wall in the central atrium that serves as a living air filter and is the first of its kind in an American university building. Air is drawn through the roots of the plant, which remove particulates and volatile compounds. The building incorporates many other Green features and is expected to be Drexel’s first LEED-certified building.Turner Construction Company provides facilities management solutions.
