Skanska is to build a US$56m (£36.5m) hotel in the downtown area of the US city of Portland.

The contract with the Widewaters Group is for a 16-storey boutique hotel with 299 guest rooms. The new Porter Hotel will be part of the Curio Collection by Hilton Hotels.

Construction will begin shortly for completion in the autumn of 2017.
