GENAVCO to double Dubai workshop capacity

GENAVCO has revealed plans to replace its existing Dubai workshop with a facility double its size.

The UAE-based equipment dealer said that its new aftersales hub – located in Al Quoz, Dubai – will not only offer greater capacity, but will also prove more convenient for trucks visiting the facility.

The move comes just months after GENAVCO became the authorised dealer for Liebherr earthmoving equipment in the Emirates.

“From the outset, we discussed with Liebherr the fact that GENAVCO is investing in a large, purpose-built facility to strengthen its aftersales infrastructure,” explained Asif Sayeed Khan, division manager for the dealer’s Equipment Business Unit.

“This will be a very big facility; approximately double the size of our existing Dubai workshop. I think that this investment was one of the reasons that convinced Liebherr to come along with us and join forces,” he added.

Indeed, the German equipment manufacturer and its UAE dealer have enjoyed an excellent start to their relationship, with a swathe of early orders. In addition to Liebherr earthmovers, GENAVCO’s aftersales facility will be used to support the firm’s other principals, which include Shantui, Isuzu, JLG, Powerscreen, and Wirtgen.

“The facility will be used to support all our brands. It’s going to be 145,000m2 – four times the size of a soccer field,” Khan told PMV.

Due to its location, Khan is confident that the new workshop will offer greater convenience for GENAVCO’s workforce and those visiting the site.

“We will move out from our existing facility in Dubai, which is not in the ideal place to conduct these activities as it’s in the middle of the city,” he pointed out.

“Being in the city, you have to follow time restrictions, which can hinder operations. We will be in a more appropriate place where vehicles carrying trucks and heavy-duty trailers will have access at all times,” Khan concluded.
