Construction consultant Driver Group has appointed Gordon Wilkinson as chief operating officer of Initiate Consulting and a member of the Driver Group executive board.

He replaces David Law who steps down from the board but will stay with the business to look after specific client accounts.

Gordon Wilkinson has been given the task of delivering the Initiate elements of the Driver’s four-year expansion plan, expanding fledgling services such as asset management, strategic consulting and management consulting.

Driver acquired Initiate Consulting, a capital investment consultant, for £5.3m in December 2014. David Law was Initiate’s CEO at the time.

Mr Wilkinson was previously a director of Aecom, in charge of its global consulting and cost management businesses. He joined Aecom in 2013 from Arup, where he was a director and head of consulting.

In the 1990s he was with KPMG, ultimately as a partner.

Driver chief executive Dave Webster said: “I am delighted that Driver Group has been able to attract somebody of Gordon’s considerable stature. I am sure that with his drive, energy and experience he will contribute significantly to the executive board as a whole and to the delivery of our growth plans.”
