BBH builds new training facility in US

Baseball Heaven Long Island (BBH) has completed the construction of a new indoor training facility, the Steel Sports Academy with investments of over $1.9 million.

The company, which is a portfolio company of Steel Sports, had started construction of the facility in February 2013 for the baseball and softball community.

Located on Baseball Heaven’s 27-acre facility in Yaphank, New York, the 12,000ft² facility is climate controlled and features a training area, multiple pitching mounds, batting tunnels, speed and agility training, private lessons, indoor camps as well as clinics.

BBH general manager Frank Zitaglio the company continues to strive towards becoming the top destination for baseball and softball players and the new Steel Sports Academy will enable it to provide a place for events and training throughout the year.

“We are committed to the Long Island region and we believe the new facility will serve to reinforce Baseball Heaven as a local attraction as well as a destination sports complex,” Zitaglio added.

The building is part of the BBH upgrade project that includes construction of two new concession stands, a revamped cafe, live online video streaming of all games, and upgraded parking, turf and lighting on the fields.
